2004

On 03 October 2004, restored CRG163 returns home to Merseyside by attending the Wirral Bus & Tram Show in Birkenhead.

Restored CRG163 parked on display at the Wirral Bus & Tram Show, Birkenhead with what was also shown back then in every show the customary information board, Bus & Coach Preservation Magazine and history folder in the windscreen.

Following the show CRG163 visits the Woodside Ferry Terminal, followed by an impromptu trip across to Liverpool Lime Street Station where CRG163 and as ERG163 would operate in active service with Crosville.

CRG163 returns home to Liverpool Lime Street.  Lime Street Station is located opposite to where the city’s Skelhorne Street Coach Station was once situated, served so often by CRG163 when based at Crosville‘s Liverpool Edge Lane depot from 1970 to 1979.  CRG163 as ERG163 would return here in service when based at the company’s depot between 1979 and 1984 on the X10 Saturday service from Cemaes Bay.  This image depicted restored CRG163 returning to Liverpool 20 years following its active service with Crosville.

On the way home to North Wales CRG163 stops outside Crosville’s former Rock Ferry depot in Birkenhead.

CRG163 stops at the former coach stop that would be so often used by Crosville coaches back in the day including CRG163 when operating long distance services to London and other destinations.

CRG163 parked outside Crosville’s Rock Ferry depot in Birkenhead on the way home to North Wales.  As the photo shows, this is by now a First Bus depot.

CRG163 arrives back in North West Wales after it’s trip to Merseyside.
