A very productive two weeks for CRG163.
At last the battery charging issue that has plagued CRG163 for quite sometime has finally been resolved through a combination of the regulator control board being completely rewired by Roger Downs to replicate the original weathered board and then a partial rewiring of CRG163’s electrical system by Trevor Morris.
Today, Friday 1 March 2024 the following has also been resolved on CRG163 with my grateful thanks to Roger Downs (owner of preserved Crosville coach CRG111) and Glyn Plevin (one time Crosville electrician at its Rock Ferry depot):
- new headlamps fitted ✅
- new fog lights fitted ✅
- the neutral light on the gearbox control column in the driver’s cab now works ✅
- the entrance door to the vehicle works again as well as the door controls ✅.
- a lot of green ricks ✅✅
My grateful thanks to Trevor, Roger and Glyn for all the help!
Below are some of the images from the day which concluded in a small celebratory road run to finish off the day in beautiful sunshine.
